Piute, I do remember that time back in the 70's and the lines at the gas station that came with it. I was in the Air Force then. I also remember being able to ride around town most all evening on a dollar's worth of gas. That and a six pack of beer at $1.25 and I was good to go. Of course in those high school days I was only making about a dollar an hour but I always seemed to have enough money for beer and gas!

Now we're talking about gas being DOWN to the middle three dollar range and saying "what a bargain"! WOW!

Gosh, I guess I'm older than dirt too!

I wouldn't want you walking around guessing at things so I'll confirm it, YES you are older than dirt also. We need to get together with Piute and compare dinosaur stories.

Yeah, WE (and that includes you TM) could sit around of a morning having coffee somewhere like old men do and swap stories about "the good ole days". Just remember chump, I'll never be as old as you are!

hey I'm not the one who suggested going to get coffee like the old guys. You can take that up with Dave-O. The little old guys were one of my favorite parts of working mornings at Mcd's. One was always grumpy, one always tried flirting and the others were just good ol boys.

If you want cheap gas, feed Sadie a couple of chili dogs and plug her into your carburetor.

Peters was the west end turning point and Allens was the east. It was a drag strip between them at the lights. Now, it's the shooting gallery in that area.

Yep,I got one nasty ticket just below Allen's.Careless and wreckless driving.Came out of the drivin and tromped it.Officer was sitting right next to the railroad track at the bottom of the hill.I had just hit second gear.Thirty five dollars and that was alot of money back then.

i sure wish tickets were $35 now...i still have my ticket hanging over my head for the stop sign...go back to court end of Aug. ha...i must come up with an arm and a leg for the courts!! oh yeah...allens and peters...what a great run. anything and anyone cool showed up on Friday and Saturday night. even a hot rod magazine did articles of our strip!
did anyone ever take the kids to peters and order a hairy green frog...sure was fun to watch the faces of those who did not know!

I read the other day that gas is cheaper in smaller towns (think Tonganoxie last week at $3.79) because they are not required to put as many additives in their gas to combat pollution. Bonner and Edsvle were at $3.92.

regular is 3.229

at Phillips on K 7 diesel 4.09

Gas is pretty high at zip code 65807.

Wow 3.22 that is cheap! The average is still $3.79 here.
There is a gas station not too far from my office that is $3.69 for regular but they run out quickly.

In Oregon....we are finally down to 3.75 a gallon average.....as if that is cheap O_o

It is still $3.53 here!

WOW!! the price chopper on shawnee mission parkway south of 7 gives points towards money off per gallon on gas. i get 15 cents off a gallon of gas up tp 15 gallons. what a deal!!!! (the old dillions store)
