I thought I would create a new gategory for our forum. This will be for posting information that applies to the community at large. Garage sales, personal items for sale or items that you are trying to find. It will include the thread on gas prices in this area also. Take note, this will be open to ANYONE who is viewing the Island. You do not have to be a member to see or to post in this category.

I have a queen box spring that I no longer need. The mattress is going into the murphy bed I'm making and it won't need the box spring anymore. Anybody wants it they can have it for free. I'll even drop it off. Just PM me.

Just remember, ANYONE can read and post. You don't even have to be registered. It would be my suggestion that unless you want people to know who you are by your screen name that you log off before posting a message. For instance, if I did not want people to know who TM was I would log off and post my ad using my real name

Fred Flintstone is having a huge garbage sale this weekend 10 AM till 4 PM

It shows you as a guest. Also if you ARE a guest please feel free to advertise here for free.

Ok, I now have a large chandelier for an entryway that I can give to somebody if they need it. It's only about 4 years old. It's really nice and nothing wrong with it. Lilmama just happened across one in lowes that matches our decor so perfectly, so I got it for her as a surprise. So, the existing one needs a good home. PM me if you're interested. I can take a picture if needed.

We just got a couple canisters of Similac infant formula in the mail. Those formula companies are always sending us free stuff. We are using Enfamil, so we don't need them. If anybody is using Similac, or knows of somebody using it, shoot me a PM and you can have it.

Oh, according to lilmama we also have coupons for that Nestle Quickstart stuff.

Sadie, make sure you guys visit those formula websites. They send you all kinds of free stuff. Check out Enfamil, Similac, and Nestle Quickstart. Register under both your name and your stepdaughters. Heck, have kit do it too. Lots of free formula.

I'll get around to you guys eventually and show you my cans. Lilmama is about ready to pop, so it might be after the baby is born.

I need 73 cubic feet of topsoil. Do you guys know of anybody in the area that sells the stuff? I'm pondering just buying the stuff bagged from some place like the Grass Pad in Bonner, but the bagged stuff is pretty pricey.

I know there are some places around that will just dump a load in your truck, and that's what I'm interested in. I need it for our vegetable gardens.

I wish I did know, I need some too. The last storm washed out quite a few areas in our front yard. Let me know if you hear anything TNT.

Wal-Mart & Lowes normally have top soil for 97 cents a bag. I know that 36 bags adds up but it maybe cheaper than a truck load.

Update:

I priced the topsoil at Earl May's and it was $1.43 per cubic foot. There is a place on Woodend in Edwardsville that sells topsoil in bulk (dumped in your truck) for $32 per cubic yard (which works out to $1.19 per cubic foot).

I ended up going to Walmart and getting 35 bags of the cheapy stuff and 35 bags of Scotts brand stuff to mix together. I ended up going with the bagged stuff because I wasn't sure when I'd get around to unloading it in case it rained.
