Samie,
Help us out here just a little. How does laying off one fireman in the middle of an economic disaster for many, constitute dismantling the fire department.
As far as city leaders. The last Police Chief and City Administrator left much to be desired. The last council wasn't bad. The council before that one should have been prosecuted. But none of that really touch's on your dismantling comment. Didn't the police lose a position ? Are they dismantling the police department as well ? I feel bad for anyone losing their job. I have no issues with James ( the younger ) and I'm glad to hear he has something else to go on to.
You have yet to answer or give a good reason that there should be more than the required number of men on a truck. If the Chief says it takes 4 men, why would there be more than that ? Or is he trying to dismantle the department too ?
And on top of this, the first thing you do is talk law suits and attorneys. One fireman has been layed off. The city tried to find other options as best I can tell but the fire department didn't want to give on anything. If the fire department was the only one being asked to make the sacrifice it would be one thing but that isn't the case is it ?
