We intend to strive to make this place be a place that you will enjoy and share with friends. Any topic is open to discussion and we encourage you to read and contribute to them all. I have a question. Are you going to be able to bring all the content from the other island over here? Or our we going to lose our history?

Everyone has tolld me that we cannot bring our database from the original island. I am going to keep trying but do not hold out much hope.

I just can't believe we're going to lose all of our classics and all of our pictures, and..... Where's the "waaaaah" emote?

I really wish there was a way to get our history here but I don't think there is. Just think though, in a couple months we will have new history.

It's so nice to be here! I'm also worried about losing everything over at the other forum, but I don't have the first clue about how to save it. We really could just copy and paste some stuff, I guess, or save the web pages and find some way to load them here. At least the Classics. Right now I'm worried about my PM's vanishing if the old Island goes under.

But it's good to know we have a place to go. Good job, TM.

Change is always hard and I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't think it was needed. Who knows ? Aceboard could keep going for another few years but judging from the support board, I don't see how. There is currently no active moderators. They can't reach the administrator and haven't been able to for months. I know that the 2 best forums that were there are moving also.

Here is the problem I see. There will be a lot of our regulars who won't let go of the old Island. I'm not going to pull the plug on it because of the history that we have there but we won't be able to keep 2 boards going. I don't at all want to become a house divided. One option may be to lock all the threads on the old. They would still be there to read but we couldn't post on them anymore. Right now this is just a thought process that I'm going through to try and make this all workout.

:clown: Well I am glad to be here! New Island and Some new experiences and probably even more fun! Plus relearning some stuff. Who is going to be the dinosaur? I hope this one won't be like jurassic park. :sunny: Oh happy day, let's embrace the change!

TM, maybe you should set a date for locking up the old forum threads and announce it on both islands. It could be sort of an official changeover date. Hopefully Aceboard won't shut down, though, because once summer hits I'm going to research/try various ways of saving our old Island threads and getting them over here. I'm thinking... something like saving them as webpages and then finding a place to host them that we can link to this place, but I'm not sure how any of that might work (yet).

I think locking all the threads on the old island is a good idea, too, but I don't know if we should do it right away. We need to give people like Hobo and others, time to get over here. Also, Emmyrold, that is awesome that you're going to be working on saving our history.

Help! Where are the avatars? I am lonely without one.

Go into your profile, the mask, and it will have your info there. Along the top right , just below the messed up bar with SOS, the search map and the mask you will see different sections for modifying your profile. ie Signatures, avatars and a couple other things. If you can't find one you like, give me some time and I will try to import your existing one. Or you can actually get the URL of your existing one and once you get to the avatar section paste it in.
